FAQs

What is the NACM?
The NACM is the National Association of Chain Manufacturers. They are a trade association but also come together and provide specifications to a wide variety of industries that use chains for different applications. The specifications our chains adhere to come from this association.

Our products meet or exceed the Welded, Weldless, and Hook specifications.

Make sure the chains and related products that you purchase meet or exceed these standards, and are stamped with the standard against which they are manufactured.

While we do have some products that meet Grade 100 (G100), we mostly serve the transport industry, and Grade 70 (G70) is perfect for this industry.

How do I know what size of hook or chain to use?
First, make sure anything you purchase matches the Grade specification for your transport application. Most likely that should be G70.

Second, make sure the Working Load Limit (WLL) is not exceeded by your cargo.

Wow, you’ve got so many cargo chains and binders, and also protectors. How do I put them all together?
Cargo chains that you purchase in a fixed length will almost always come with a hook; if not, the basic element to connect a chain to something else is a hook, so both ends will need a hook.

Next, you’ll want to ensure you’re protecting your cargo, so you’ll want to stock up on the required amount and proper types of corner protectors.

After that, if you need to connect two or more chains together for a large load, you’ll need to either

  • connect them with a link or some type of slip hook.
  • connect them with a ratchet binder.

Connecting with a ratchet binder has the advantage of allowing you to tighten the chains around your load for maximum security. You’ll almost always need one of these.
